John 12:42-43; "Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn't admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. For they loved human praise more than the praise of God."(NLT)
Most of us love human praise more than praise from God. In the past we have spent time, energy and money trying to gain praises from people around us, what did we get in return? Pretense, deceit, falsehood, hypocrisy, back stabbing, e.t.c. As long as the motive of seeking praise is not in the will of God, it leads to vanity.
But we are not like that; we are not like those who seek praise of men, our praise comes from God. John 5:44 says; "No wonder you can't believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don't care about the honor that comes from the one who alone is God."
Do not seek the praise of men, it only leads to vainglory, praises that comes from men may cause you to stumble, but the praise that comes from God leads to promotion and great honor.
Dear Lord, I thank you. I desire the praise that comes from you rather than the praise that comes from men. I pray that your praise will open the floodgates of heaven upon my life in Jesus name! Amen!
