Hebrews 4:2 says; "For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it."(KJV)
Our faith makes the difference in our walk with God. Bible says in Hebrews 11:6; "And without faith it is impossible to please God."
A young man, also member of this group sent me a message saying, "Pastor, I have faith; why is my faith not working for me?" You may have this same question running in your mind.
(1) If it did not work, then it was not faith; or
(2) It was already working before you doubted.
Remember the case of Peter, when Jesus walked on water in Matthew 14:25-33; Peter had faith, among all the disciples in the boat, he stood up and said, in verse 28; "Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” Jesus told him to come and he started walking on water, hallelujah!
Then, verse 30 said; "But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” And Jesus said to him, "why did you doubt?".
Your blessing was on it's way, just before you doubted; your marriage was about to be restored, before you doubted; your struggle was about to end, before you doubted; the healing to your sickness was on it's way, before you doubted due to the unfavorable situation you are going through, due to the difficult moment you are in, fear has taken over. Jesus is saying; "why did you doubt?".
Remember the account of our father Abraham, in Romans 4:18-25; "Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” He was not weak in his faith, he did not consider the wind like Peter, he did not consider unfavorable situations like some of us. He did not doubt!
If we are Children of Abraham, then we must follow the example of our father (Hebrews 6:12). Faith never fails, rather we fail but His grace is sufficient to restore our faith again and your faith will produce result in Jesus name! Amen!
Dear Father, I thank you for your grace. Today, I receive the strength to remain in faith no matter the problem I see. I declare that I will enter your promise in Jesus name! Amen!
