Psalm 121:1-4; "I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."(NIV)
This psalmist teaches us to comfort ourselves in the Lord when difficulties and danger come knocking. It is this wisdom that guides and provides the safety of those who put themselves under God's protection.
He is a watchful Keeper; he is never weary; he does not sleep, neither does he slumber.
We must not rely upon men and their promises, instruments and gains. Shall I depend upon the strength of the mountains? upon Princes and great men? No; my confidence is in God alone. Bible says in Psalm 118:8; "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."
We must lift up our eyes beyond the hills; we must look to God who made the heavens and the earth. Since all things are of God, we must see all our help in Him; from Him, we must expect all things, in his own way and in His own time.
Now, I am not saying that men cannot help us, but if God says yes, who can say no? And if God says no, what can a man do? Psalm 54:4 says; "Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me."(NIV)
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your protection. I believe your word and put my trust in you. I commit my life into your mighty hands and believe that you are able to keep me safe from the enemy. I declare that you are my ever present help in times of trouble in Jesus powerful name! Amen!
