Hebrews 4:14-16 says; "So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most."(NLT)
We all have our weaknesses because we are human. Knowing them and effectively addressing them will lead us into a successful and glorious life but pretending like they don’t exist, on the other hand, can have tragic consequences.
What gets you into trouble? What is a constant struggle for you? What holds you back? Samson was the strongest man who ever lived and the Lord was with him, he refused to recognize his weakness and the Lord departed from him which led to his death(Judges 16: 4-20). King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived, he refused to recognize his weakness which led to the loss of 10 tribes of the 12 tribes of his kingdom.(1 Kings 11:1-13)
So you see, great men who refused to recognize their weaknesses faced consequences. Recognizing your weakness is not the same as accepting your weaknesses. In fact, you can only improve once you know what needs to be improved.
If you recognize your weakness commit it into the hands of God. Do not cry over your weakness nor worry about them, God has given us the promised Holy Spirit to help us overcome our weaknesses. As a matter of fact, your weakness will turn out to become your source of strength through Christ.
Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:10; "That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."(NLT)
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me your promised Holy Spirit. I am aware of my weaknesses and I commit it into your mighty hands. I decree and declare that every weakness in my life will become the source of my strength in Jesus mighty name! Amen!
