Romans 12:20-21; "Instead, "If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads. Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good."
We get offended sometimes when people cross our part and are determined to get back at them to feel some peace in our heart. The scripture above makes us understand that this ought not to be so.
We are also aware that the law says in Exodus 21:24-25; "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot, a burn for a burn, a wound for a wound, a bruise for a bruise." But John 1:17 says "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."
We are followers of Christ and not followers of Moses, those who practice these laws are still under the old covenant which was faulty with God's people, and God had a reason to make it obsolete and gave Christ as an ultimate sacrifice for redemption for a new covenant. (Hebrews 8:6-13)
Therefore, you don't live under the requirements of the law. but under the freedom of God's grace. (Romans 6:14)
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your grace. I am not under the requirements of the law but under grace. I conquer every evil around me by doing good and the grace of God will accomplish it, in Jesus mighty name! Amen!
