Titus 1:15-16; "Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good."(NLT)
Studying the above scripture, Apostle Paul wrote to Titus who was a Greek leader of Churches on the Island of Crete. He admonished the church on how to live a true Christian life and turn away from those rebellious men and deceivers in the churches.
In the opening scripture, Paul said some of these men claim they know God but their way of life proved otherwise. Today we see some Christians claiming to know God but their lifestyle is worse than the unbelievers. How can they be called the followers of Christ in this circumstance? A follower is an imitator, a supporter.
If really we are followers of Christ, the life of Christ would be evident in us. We live the way Christ has taught us to live. Now, we are not saying that we would be perfect like Him but we follow His ways and press towards the mark for the High calling which is in Christ Jesus through His word which produces faith. So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
James 1:22 says; "But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves."(NLT)
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your grace. The life of Christ is in me. The word of God is richly dwelling in me. My life is consistent with the word of God. The word is producing results in my life in Jesus name! Amen!
