Hebrews 4:1-2; "God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For this good news, that God has prepared this rest has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God."(NLT)
In the above scripture, God promises rest to those who believe in Him through His word and unlike the children of Isreal in the days of Moses; when they rebelled against God's command; Hebrews 3:19 says "that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter His rest."
In 2 Chronicles 14, the bible states that King Asa of Judah had rest from all his enemies because He was good and loved God (2 Chronicles 14:5-6). Even when the large Ethiopian army came up against king Asa of Judah, King Asa put his trust in God and God gave him victory.
Later in his years, thirty-six years of reign, King Baasha of Isreal came up against King Asa of Judah. King Asa did not put his trust in God because he had accumulated wealth and he relied on the army of the king of Syria, buying the Army of Syria for allies with his gold and silver to defeat Baasha. God was not pleased with his action and from that day God promised him wars. (2 Chronicles 16:9)
Today, if you read this post do not harden your heart, there is God's rest for those who believe and trust God.
Hebrew 4:10 says; "For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world"(NLT)
Father, I thank you, I desire to enter into your rest. I believe that those who enter into your rest have rested from their labor. I declare that I have rested from my labor, God is my sufficiency and my supply in all my needs, in Jesus name! Amen!
