Genesis 21:6; "And Sarah declared, "God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me."(NLT)
According to the story of Sarah, she could not bear a child for Abraham until about ninety years, although God had promised Abraham that Sarah will bear him a child and that child will become his heir.
In waiting, Sarah went through a lot, she was mocked, looked down upon, and at a time lost her patience, people around her believed that it was all over for her. The discouraging part about her situation was that, even though she was barren, she had also passed the age of childbearing. She lost hope and asked her maid to marry Abraham in other to bear him a son in her behalf, not realizing that our God is a miracle working God. He makes a way where there seems to be no way!
To make the long story short, at about 90 years Sarah conceived and bore a child. More also, her son became the heir to the promise of God upon Abraham notwithstanding that there was an older son, Ishmael. She was blessed, even if the son came at her old age. God put laughter in her mouth and she died fulfilling her destiny. Our God is a covenant keeping God. If He makes a promise, he brings it to pass.
I don't know the promise of God upon your life, maybe you have been waiting so long, I want to inform you that your joy is coming. God is about to put laughter in your mouth and you will shout for joy. You will sing "Lord, I didn't know you will favor me this way!"
Psalm 126:1-2 says, " When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”."
Dear Father, I thank you for your grace upon my life. I refuse to worry about tomorrow. I declare that laughter and joy will never cease in my life in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen!
