Proverbs 11:2; "Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." (NLT)
To be proud is having or showing a high opinion of one's dignity, importance, superiority, highly gratifying to the feelings or self-esteem, hence crediting all achievement to one's self. Consequently, having no interest in knowing God and obeying what He commands because they have put their confidence in themselves.
The bible teaches that such people who put their confidence in themselves will be disgraced and brought low like king Nebuchadnezzar whom the Most High God gave sovereignty, majesty, glory, and honor yet was puffed up in his pride and was disgraced by God. (Daniel 5:13-21).
This means, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Who wants to be God's opponent? Nobody I guess! Then it's time to get rid of that pride and arrogance. Humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
Someone may ask, what do you mean, to humble yourself under God's mighty power? The answer is to accept the Lord Jesus, believe in His Word, and your life will never be disgraced.
Remember, it was Pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that will make men as
Dear Lord, I thank you for your word, I reject every spirit of pride and arrogance. I walk in humility, glory and honor. I am full of grace and wisdom in Jesus mighty name, Amen!
